TITLE WRITING MASTERCLASS
THE THREE CORE RULES
- Make it ABOUT YOUR NICHE, not generic YouTube advice. Your title should make someone in your niche perk up and think "oh, that's for me."
- Lead with CURIOSITY or SPECIFICITY. Use a hook word (How, Why, The Secret, Revealed, etc.) or a number/specific claim to stop the scroll.
- Keep it UNDER 60 CHARACTERS for desktop, under 40 for mobile. YouTube truncates long titles—make the first 5 words count.

THE POWER WORDS THAT CONVERT
- Curiosity triggers: Secret, Revealed, Finally, The Truth About, Why Nobody Talks About, Proven
- Urgency triggers: Now, Finally, At Last, Before It's Too Late, Don't Miss
- Specificity triggers: The [Number], Exactly, Precisely, Real (as in "Real Results")
- Benefit triggers: Fast, Quick, Easy, Simple, Unexpected, Counterintuitive
HOW TO MAKE YOUR TITLES YOURS
- List your 4 niche keywords. Every title should naturally include at least one.
- Write 3 headlines per formula type. You'll spot patterns in what feels right.
- Test on your ideal viewer. Does it make them lean in, or scroll past?
- Avoid clickbait that doesn't deliver. Your thumbnail and opening need to match the title promise.
- Mix formula types across your channel. If every title is "How To," they blur together.
THE CHECKLIST BEFORE YOU PUBLISH
- Is it specific to my niche (not generic)?
- Does it spark curiosity or promise a clear benefit?
- Under 60 characters?
- Does the first 5 words work if the rest gets cut off?
- Is it honest (does the video actually deliver on the promise)?
- Have I used a power word?
- Would I click on this title?
