The Niche King MCP server is a standard implementation compatible with Zed's context server protocol. You configure it exactly like you would any other context server, Zed reads from your config file and loads the tools natively.
All communication goes through Zed's secure context server protocol. Your API key is sent only to the Niche King API server over HTTPS. Zed never sees your API key, and the server has no direct access to your Zed workspace.
